Nazi War Merit Medals were awarded for contributions to the Nazi war effort. Typically awarded to non combatents for efforts on the home front. The award came in several grades including Knights Cross, with and without swords, 1st Class with and without swords, 2nd Class with and without swords and the 3rd Class War Merit Medal.
